How I Met Your Mother: 25 Best Moments From The Finale

25. High Infinity

Since Season 8 began everyone€™s been curious why Ted€™s hand was bandaged at the station. Not focused on anywhere near as much as the other major events of the episode, its explanation toed that line between emotional and ridiculous that HIMYM does so well. As a final farewell before leaving Chicago, Barney and Ted have one final high five, to represent all the past and potential hand slaps the duo have/could have had. Dubbed a high infinity by a giddy Barney, the result running-jump hit is a pain for both parties and a potentially licking-the-Liberty-Bell rivaling story.

24. Back To The Start

In a bid to make it even more of an event, Last Forever gave us a little prologue to the action, showing a previously unseen evening in MacLarens where Robin officially became one of the group. Flashbacks to earlier seasons is nothing new for HIMYM, always keen to give the hair department a challenge with Lily€™s ever-changing €˜dos, but this one brought a real significance to proceedings, upping the contrast as we saw the characters travel further forward in time. It also introduced a new key concept to the show, Lily€™s rule that Ted and Barney can€™t do anything with her new best friend unless they marry her, which looks set to be satisfied in both cases counts.
