Mindhunter Season 2: 9 Serial Killers Confirmed

6. Elmer Wayne Henley

Elmer Wayne Henley

Elmer Wayne Henley was convicted in 1974 for his part in the Houston Mass Murders, where a teenage Henley and a fellow teen helped Dean Corll kidnap, torture, rape and kill at least 28 young men between 1970 and 1973.

Ironically it was Henley himself who brought the killing spree to an end, shooting Corll dead during his attempted murder of two more teens, before turning himself and the other accomplice, David Owen Brooks, into the authorities.

At the time of the incident Henley was deemed to be part of "the deadliest case of serial murders in American history" and sentenced to six consecutive 99-year sentences (for each of the six murders he was convicted of).

The uniquely horrifying nature of the murders, young ages of the victims, high body count and Henley's eventual decision to kill his leader should all make for an utterly stomach-churning yet undeniably fascinating episode.
