Moon Knight: 10 Characters Who Could Appear In The Show
7. Marlene Alraune
Marc met Marlene during the Egypt mission since her father, Dr. Alraune, was the Egyptologist leading the excavation. After witnessing his resurrection as Khonshu’s avatar first-hand, Marlene has stuck with Marc to help him with his duties as well as later marry him. Though their relationship going further becomes a bit tested as many do during Marvel stories, Marlene constantly holds a special place in Moon Knight's heart (which inevitably pins her as a target from a couple of Marc's psychotic enemies).
Learned in Ancient Egyptology following her father's research, Marlene also assists Moon Knight with equipment and historical information. She is also versatile in military combat as well as efficient at defending herself from incoming threats, becoming a backup for Moon Knight.
The MCU may have rebooted the character into May Calamawy’s Layla El-Faouly who seems to be present throughout multiple important excavation scenes in the recently released TV spots, matching Marlene’s storyline. Whether or not this new depiction will stay true to Marlene’s character or is a creative new direction, it’s clear that Layla will play an important role in Marc’s character development as himself, Moon Knight, and every other personality.
