Current world events may have seen productions across the globe stall, but work is slowly starting to resume, and that's good news for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The entire Phase 4 slate has been delayed, of course, but with Disney+ relying on Marvel Studios for new content, those TV shows are finally beginning to take shape.

WandaVision is still set to be released this year, while The Falcon and The Winter Soldier should follow early 2021. Beyond that, there are a lot of exciting small screen projects on the way, including Hawkeye, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel.

The latter is one of Marvel's newer creations, but a character who has become a huge part of the Marvel Universe in recent years (Kamala Khan was even the lead in the new Marvel's Avengers video game). Now, it appears as if the same will happen in the MCU, and with an actress found to play Ms. Marvel last night, this feature will tell you everything you need to know about the series.

From casting to directors, and even big rumours about the villains and plans for the Inhumans, this will be a show to keep an eye on, especially as it looks set to have big consequences for this shared world...

10. Iman Vellani Is The MCU's Ms. Marvel

The big news, of course, is that unknown Canadian actress Iman Vellani has been cast as Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. Her IMDb page isn't even 24 hours old, and the only credit on there is the Marvel Studios series, so Kevin Feige and company definitely picked a fresh face for the project.

According to Deadline, "The plan always was to stay true to the character in finding the right actress to play the role, even if it meant offering a person that was not well known to the public."

That's a ballsy move, but one which has paid off for studios in the past; just look at what a great find Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley was! Despite being new to acting, Vellani has been vocal in the industry, and was part of the "Next Wave Committee" at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival. There, she was among those tasked with adding a special tags to films the group believed would resonate with their peers.

Taking to her newly launched Instagram account, Vellani issued a brief statement, saying "Speechless and excited! Wish me luck."
