My Hero Academia: 10 Best Episodes
These episodes will make you want to be a hero.
It's easy to point to classic shows like One Piece, Naruto and Dragon Ball Z as the old guard of anime. They wowed audiences and even continue to thrive to this day.
But, there are new kids on the block, and it's not hyperbole to think of them as the future classics of the medium.
The likes of Attack On Titan and Demon Slayer are certainly among those names, but perhaps one of the most well-suited contenders to that title is My Hero Academia. This epic manga turned phenomenal anime has gone completely Plus Ultra when it comes to putting its stamp on popular culture.
My Hero Academia's latest theatrical instalment - World Heroes Mission - is a massive success with critics, audiences, and the box office at this very moment. With a legacy like that, you know it's doing something right, and it has seen its fair share of memorable episodes.
The exploits of Class 1-A and their superpowered teachers is a constantly exciting saga that has risen to the highest heights of comedy and sunk to the lowest depths of despair.
There are so many great episodes that display the show's worth, but the following are undoubtedly the top of their class.
10. Let It Flow! School Festival!
This sillier episode might seem like an odd choice for this list, but it captures the key to the show's success. Part of My Hero's charm comes from well it totters between being a dramatic battle anime and a charming high school comedy. This episode encapsulates that latter half to perfection, and that's why it's here.
In this season four episode, Midoriya races back to the School Festival to participate in the live music performance and show Eri a good time at UA.
"Let It Flow! School Festival" is more than just a fun change of pace, as it features one of the show's most wholesome, tear-jerking moments. This comes when the adrenaline of Class 1-A's performance causes Eri to smile for the first time in a beautifully rendered sequence that sees her metaphorical demons literally blown away by music.
Plus, getting the chance to see Jiro's origin story and how harmonious her quirk is with her personality shines a great light on a character that, up until now, hadn't gotten the biggest spotlight. You also can't deny that "Hero Too" is an absolute bop.
It's got some issues (i.e. the dull climax to the already lacklustre Gentleman Criminal arc), but the fun, emotion and sheer energy in this outing make it deserving of this spot.
