7. Tokoyami Fumikage – Dark Shadow
Is this one of the coolest quirks in class 1-A? Hell yeah, is it also one of the worst, definitely.
As gnarly as U.A’s resident edgelord Tokoyami makes his quirk look, when you really boil it down, dark shadow is basically just an unpredictable mate made of dark matter who he sends to bash people about. And when I say unpredictable, this ticking gothic time bomb is the most unpredictable quirk in a class full of loose cannons.
Dark Shadow is affected by the level of light it’s exposed to. In heavy light, it is weak and docile, often cowering in fear and rendering it essentially useless. On the other hand, in heavy darkness it becomes massively powerful, but also vicious and temperamental, with the capability to completely take over Tokoyami’s mind and body. Both of these states are more harm than help, either leaving Tokoyami unable to defend himself or unable to control himself.
When in the optimal environment, Tokoyami is one of the strongest heroes in the class, but simply cut the lights out and he’ll completely lose his nut.
