NBC giving HEROES actor a REST?

Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) is poised to star and executive-produce a TV drama based on a comic-book series he co-created in 2008, entitled Rest. Deadline report that NBC have ordered a pilot script, to be written by Philip Levens (Smallville). Rest revolves around John Barret, a workaholic living in New York who becomes addicted to a drug that eliminates his need for sleep -- allowing him to accomplish twice as much every day, but at a price... I haven't read the comic, but the main character's look is clearly based on Ventimiglia himself, so he's at least a perfectly logical choice as co-creator. The premise sounds like a neat idea, too, but will that concept sustain a continuing drama series?m It feels more like the basis for a movie. Hopefully there's a twist to the story I'm not aware of. Has anyone read Rest? Will it make a good TV series? Or is it a forgettable comic that's only being developed because NBC want to employ Ventimiglia and fill a Heroes-sized gap in their schedule?
