Netflix's Gypsy Review: 2 Ups And 6 Downs

1. It's An Overall Mess

Sam, one of Jean's patients, confesses that his girlfriend slapped him during sex, because she assumed he was thinking about someone else. That image resonates with Jean, who later that day slaps her husband as they are kissing. For no apparent reason!

This is just one example of the ridiculousness that fills this potentially-interesting show. It's just so cliche-ridden and poorly written, that it's really hard to believe that it will get a second season in its present form. From the introductory voice-over about the unconscious being the driving force of all humanity to the dreadful dialogues that are infesting the show, it's really quite a chore to binge-watch The Gypsy.

After finishing the season one risks uttering words of wisdom like: "People who think they're normal never are" or "I'm not mad. I'm disappointed," under his/her nose for the rest of the day.
