3. Sigourney Weaver's Villain And The Hand

The Hand will once again be back (*sigh*) for The Defenders, marking the third Netflix Marvel series they've managed to leave their fingerprints all over. It's not exactly a cause for excitement, because they've provided little of that so far, but hopefully this is the time they really get it right.

Leading on that front is likely to be Elektra, who is a confirmed main character. Since she was last seen being brought back from the dead by the Hand, and is the mysterious superweapon Black Sky, we should see her fighting against Daredevil et al.

Even bigger than that, though, is Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra. We don't even have a surname for the character yet, but we do know she's going to be intelligent and badass, and presumably pulling the strings that the Defenders are trying to cut loose.

It has been theorised that she's a gender-swapped version of Alexander Bont, the first Kingpin of Hell's Kitchen, but there are also reports she's a new character. Either could reasonably fit, though since we've seen various branches of the Hand (Nobu, Gao, and Bakuto), a fair suggestion is that she's the one at the very top of that chain, and is now going to reveal herself.
