17. The Dump
Ugly Dave calls the garbage dump home, and he’s not about to let some city slicker take it away from him.
The Dump feels like a way too long cut scene from a trucker simulation game; that said, it ain’t half bad! The animation doesn’t feel much more impressive than Jimmy Neutron and the characters feel far too exaggerated to resonate, but it mirrors the silliness.
There’s an action scene towards the end that almost makes up for the middling story preceding it. The film ends on a happy note (as happy as any of the shorts can be) and is far and away the most accessible. The Dump is fine in the moment, but quite forgettable in hindsight. That said, the creature that makes an appearance is surely a sight to see.
