Netflix's The Order: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered In Season 2

1. Just How Large Is The Hermetic Order?

Throughout Season 1 of Netflix's The Order, viewers will occasionally catch references to instances in which The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose has operated on a global scale. In Homecoming, Part One, Alyssa brings up an incantation the Order once performed to destabilize the Argentinian economy. This becomes doubly interesting after close examination of Pete's conspiracy board, which contains a newspaper clipping from a story about Coventry's investments in Argentina.

Pete's board contains references to other possible Order operations as well, reaching as far as Sudan. Not only has the Order affected specific nations, but they evidently hold the key to change the entire world. One of the clippings on Pete's board suggests that the Order has developed a plant-based cure for cancer. A photo of a blue rose accompanies the article.

The oddities hardly end there. As is often the case with secret societies, numerous politicians and celebrities are rumored to have been among the Order's membership. Most notable among those name-dropped by Randall is Benito Mussolini. Unless the show is trying to suggest that this Italian fascist dictator received an American education, any truth to this rumor would suggest that the Order is in fact a global organization.

It wouldn't come as much of a shock. The Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose appears to be behind all (or at least most) of the world's magic. As of now, the show has not revealed any sizable community of non-Order magicians.

If Season 2 decides to provide a deeper look into the scope of the organization, future storylines could easily lead Jack and the Knights on adventures far from the familiar setting of Belgrave. Until Netflix makes the call to renew, the true extent of the Order's reach will have to remain unknown.
