Kilgrave, the villain of the first season of Jessica Jones, is also known as The Purple Man in the comics. So it's no surprise to see the colour shading a lot of the scenes in the trailer and filling this hallway as Jones walks down it in the semi-darkness. But it looks like the trailer might be using it to signify that Kilgrave's control of Jessica and other characters. His skill is in mind manipulation and every time purple appears in the trailer, it is as though he's trying to break back into Jones' mind, with his image appearing spectre-like all around her. It's a bone-chilling technique that hopefully carries into the show.
