Obi-Wan Kenobi - 10 Things You Missed

1. James Earl Jones (Maybe) Didn’t Voice Darth Vader

In Star Wars: Rogue One, fans were happy to hear James Earl Jones providing the voice of Darth Vader. But because Jones was 85 at the time, the Dark Lord of the Sith sounded noticeably older (and less intimidating).

Because of this, fans worried Vader's voice would be impaired again when the character appeared in Obi-Wan Kenobi. But to the surprise (and suspicion) of many, Vader's voice just like it did in the original trilogy, despite Jones being 91 years old.

Even though Jones is credited for the role, some viewers believed Vader's voice was performed by someone else... or something else.

Even though this sounds speculative, there may be some truth to this claim. At the end of each episode starring Vader, a voice cloning company called Respeecher appears in the credits.

Since this technology was used to create Luke Skywalker’s voice in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, it's not too far-fetched to believe the same thing was done for Vader's voice for this show.

But because Jones is credited as well, it’s possible the visionary actor recorded his lines, which were then enhanced through technology. Although it hasn’t been verified whether Vader was voiced by a machine or not, it is suspicious how the showrunners have stayed very hush-hush about the whole situation.
