Obi-Wan Kenobi Part III Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

6. The State Of The Empire

Part III, as noted, has an awful lot going on, and whilst its execution isn't great, the way it looks into life under Empire rule is very affecting.

Through Tala, Obi-Wan learns that former Jedi and friend Quinlan Vos - a character whose fate has always been shrouded in ambiguity - survived the Purge, and spent years saving Force-sensitive children from the Empire's clutches. (Hopefully this passing reference leads somewhere for the character.)

Earlier on, Obi-Wan and Leia encounter a farmer (voiced, surprisingly, by Zach Braff), whose life revolves around doing the Empire's bidding and living in fear of the Jedi after years of being told they're evil.

The insight into Empire life is brief, but it adds depth to the broken, confused world Obi-Wan once fought for and now hides from.
