Obi-Wan Kenobi Part IV Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs
9. The Exposition
Last week did a relatively decent job of avoiding heavy-handed exposition, but Part IV is almost groan-inducing in its attempts to set things up through stilted dialogue.
Having been saved from Vader's wrath by newcomer Tala, Obi-Wan wastes little time setting up his next mission, which involves infiltrating the Inquisitors' base and saving a kidnapped Leia. This comes complete with new characters given nothing to work with, and important plotpoints mentioned with little tact.
For the first ten-or-so minutes of Part IV, the episode struggles to overcome its over-bearing exposition, which takes a lot of the intensity and potential excitement out of the action its putting in motion.
