Obi-Wan Kenobi Part V Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

6. Obi-Wan's Turmoil Continues To Excite

One of the biggest issues with last week's episode was its lack of major character development, which was drowned out by sloppily rushed plot twists and action.

Part V, though, is able to balance the aforementioned action sequences with quiet, internal moments of character depth, the best of which are split between Reva, Darth Vader, and a still-magnetic Obi-Wan.

Forced to protect not only Leia but the Path rebels, whilst contending with memories of his fallen apprentice and the increasingly real threat of Reva, Obi-Wan is pushed to his breaking point this time around, in a mission that echoes loudly with callbacks to his misadventures during the Clone Wars.

When the series slows down to focus on a haunted Obi-Wan as he keeps fighting despite the odds being heavily stacked against him, it's at its best, and Part V serves a striking reminder of that fact. He's rarely been this compelling.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
