Obi-Wan Kenobi Part V Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
3. The Brilliant Reva Twist
As great as the flashbacks are, and as tantalising as the final cliffhangers manage to be, the best twist in Part V has to be the reveal of Reva's true endgame.
Up until this episode, Reva had been depicted as an obsessive villain who wants to captured Obi-Wan and gain favour with Vader. Here, she is given the title of Grand Inquisitor, and sets out to destroy Obi-Wan and the Path once and for all.
It all seems fairly cut-and-dry; that is, until the third act kicks off with a shocked Obi-Wan realising Reva's plans.
As it turns out, she's not loyal to the Empire at all. Once a youngling, she survived Vader's Temple killing spree, and has since spent all her time working to kill the Sith Lord for what he did to her.
It's a brilliantly executed twist, sold for all its heartbreak and anger by a raging and yet endearing Moses Ingram, and it leads to the episode's single most exciting sequence...
