Joey Tribbiani is the least intelligible but most lovably charming member of the critical acclaimed sextet. His friends...and sex, are two of his many passions. The Italian-American also enjoys socialising, sports (particularly New York teams) and, of course, food, which he is not overly keen on sharing.
The show's writers, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, originally intended Joey to be much more "macho" and "smug", which is evident in the first two seasons. However, during the many rounds of recall auditions, LeBlanc played the character dim to put a different spin on the character, landing him the role and giving us the affectionate, goofball we know and love.
LeBlanc shares some similarities to the Days Of Our Lives star. Both are of Italian descent and had humbled beginnings as struggling actors before becoming award-nominees in, and for their work on, the show.
