Only Fools And Horses: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

4. Season 2

Only Fools And Horses
BBC

By the end of the first series, the show was still trying to find its feet. When the second came about the rough edges were quickly polishing out. A lot of the character motivations and personalities were being distinguished, like Trigger turning from dodgy bloke to nice-but-dim road sweeper and Boycie from car trader to snobby gambler who'll take advantage of everyone.

The comedy also improved immensely, including the Trotters decorating a Chinese restaurant in luminous paint, the con-man's poker game, Del's "haunting" of Grandad. But for the longest time, nothing was funnier than the chandelier scene in the season finale, the moment that made everyone take notice of the antics of Trotters Independent Traders.

In its second series Only Fools was a show that went from next on the BBC's chopping block, to one of the most talked-about shows in their library, one that would go from strength to strength in the subsequent years.
