Doctor Who Ninth Doctor

Doctor Who’s return to television in 2005 was nothing less than a creative triumph. Thanks to Russell T Davies’ incredible vision and writing team, not to mention the acting talent of a superb TARDIS crew, Series One was a riveting experience.

Featuring outstanding stories that took the show in exciting new directions while staying true to Doctor Who’s ethos, the first series of the revived show still stands as one of its best. It brought back classic foes like the Daleks and Autons with tremendous style, as well as introducing brilliant new monsters like the Gelth and the Empty Child.

Series One also featured some powerful character work, whether it was dealing with the Doctor’s loss of his people or the consequences of Rose’s year-long absence for Jackie and Mickey. It concluded with a touching farewell for Christopher Eccleston’s incarnation of the Time Lord, and the promise of future greatness with the arrival of David Tennant.

While years may have passed since these episodes aired, they remain, like the Ninth Doctor himself, as fantastic as ever. But how well do you remember them? Activate your info-spike and put your knowledge of Series One to the test!
