Orange Is The New Black: 10 Best Moments From Season 3

10. Big Boo Comforts Pennsatucky

The first episode of season 3 takes place on Mother€™s Day, with all of the inmates who have children getting excited for their kids coming to visit, and the prison in general making a big deal out of the occasion. It throws up a few different dynamics, such as Daya€™s concerns about her own impending motherhood, Bennett struggling to bond with her family and decide whether he can commit to their relationship, and Maria€™s boyfriend telling her he€™s leaving before their daughter is old enough to understand her mother€™s in prison. We also see Pennsatucky grieving for the all of the children that she had aborted, and she has made make-shift graves for each of them: Blake, Bonnie, Boyd, Bethany, Braeden, and Buddy Jr. Clearly she has something for the letter B, and it is Big Boo who comes to comfort her. Dressed as a rather terrifying clown, she comforts Pennastucky, telling her that she did the right thing in not having the kids. It€™s a nice moment for both characters who thus far have mostly been used as a villain (Pennsatucky) and comic-relief (Boo), and continuation of their friendship, which began developing at the end of last season, that really continues to pay-off throughout the season.
