3. Piscatella Is Jason Vorhees
The whole episode nine looks like a classic horror movie, with the killer taking out - in this case, kidnapping - his victims one by one. As expected, there's constant tension in the air. Piscatella hides in the shadows and is in uniform, which makes him unrecognizable, even though we all know who he is. We also know what he'll do - but that doesn't take away the enjoyment of watching the episode.
When it's revealed at the end of the episode that it was him causing actual mayhem, not Red hallucinating off the drugs, the mood changes. Both devices - the horror convention and the hallucinations - cleverly mask the episode's actual brutality and seriousness, which is revealed at the end.
