Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Review: 7 Ups And 4 Downs
Downs...
4. Freida's Secret Space
It's obvious that the show is very removed from the everyday life of regular prisoners. Granted, it takes place in a minimum security prison, but still, some of the things that the inmates are able to get away with grow crazier as the show progresses. This culminates in Season 5, as Litchfield feels even more like a dorm than an actual prison.
There's an old pool, which is never mentioned throughout the show, yet suddenly it turns out that Frieda was able to prepare a safe room there. There she has cans of beer, food, weed, family pictures, souvenirs and an actual computer.
The question is: why did both, Fig and Caputo, never feel the need to fill or investigate the space? The fact that Frieda was able to gather all the equipment necessary to prepare a place like that is simply not plausible.
