Ozark: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
7. Darlene Snell
The matriarch of the Snell crime family is an impulsive and unpredictable character who is prone to violent outbursts at the slightest provocation. Her relentless desire to be a mother leads her to make worrying and unhinged decisions that put her at odds with her own husband Jacob.
Darlene shares a lot of similar qualities to her husband but on a more heightened scale. Proud and resilient, Darlene hates outsiders and anyone that goes against her or those she cares about. Her sudden outbursts that often result in fatalities causes frictions with all those around her and is one of the main factors that made Jacob decide to kill her.
Darlene saw this coming and decided that Jacob had become weak, so she poisoned him and as a consequence, Darlene became essentially unshackled from reason all together. A compelling character who is often a joy to watch, Darlene stumbled slightly in Season Three as it became clear they hadn't much material for her. This meant she was paired with Wyatt in a suitably odd yet also unconvincing romantic subplot.
At the end of the season however, Darlene proved her wild card status as she re-inserted herself in the narrative and has positioned herself as a big player in the final season.
