5. Ups: The Core Cast
The acting has always been stellar on Ozark and season 3 is no different. The new characters are welcome additions, but the core characters still ground the show.
Fresh off his first Emmy win for Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series, Jason Bateman is back in full force as Marty. He's developed into "the everyman with a plan" and Jason plays that role perfectly. Constantly hit with obstacle after obstacle, Marty sometimes falters and allows the stress to get to him, but his will never breaks. He just wants to win.
Laura Linney DOMINATES the screen as Wendy, showing she's just as shrewd and persuasive as Marty, but will it be for the good or the bad of the family in the long run?
Ruth (Julia Garner) returns with her feisty form of management as she demands respect in every scene (with a couple of F-bombs dropped in for some razzle-dazzle). However, we get to see a different side of her character as her relationship with Ben evolves.
Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) are much less annoying this season and are learning to cope with their new lifestyles as well as most teens could, while also still navigating the crazy time that is high school.
