Ozark Season 4: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
2. Is Ruth Going To Turn Against The Byrdes?
Poor Ruth Langmore has endured so much ever since she stole a sack of cash from Marty Byrde.
But she's come a long way, and become Marty's trusted protege and semi-confidant at the expense of her own happiness for most of the time. While the Byrdes do share a concern for her, it's clear Marty's care only extends so far.
Ruth reluctantly killed her uncles to save herself, and her father was killed for being a hot-tempered liability, but in season three her loyalty reached breaking point when the Byrdes didn't react accordingly when Frank Jr. almost beat her to death. When Wendy allowed for Ben, a man whom Ruth had become romantically attached, to be murdered, Ruth realized that she was just as disposable as anyone else in the Byrde operation.
While Ruth may have washed her hands of the Byrdes, she is certainly susceptible to influence and with Darlene Langmore now close by and whispering in her ear, it wouldn't be a long shot to guess Ruth will turn her street smarts against the Byrdes.
If she does, let's hope it isn't for long. She and the Byrdes work so well together, and she's ultimately a good person.
