Ozark Season 4: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
3. Are Marty And Wendy Heading To War With Each Other?
A recurring plot point within Ozark has been the conflict Marty and Wendy share for the decisions either of them make.
The two leads have butted heads through nearly every decision and action they have made and it was heightened even more in season three when Marty not only undermined Wendy on a second casino, bribed their marriage counselor to side with him during discussions, but bugged her phone and listened to her phone conversations.
Marty's shock at learning Wendy arranged for Cade Langmore to be killed was repeated when she gave up her own brother to be killed by the Cartel. And while Marty is not so innocent, we have to suspect that he sees his wife as a threat to his own survival as much as anyone else is.
This theory is only bolstered more by the ominous dream Wendy had in the third season, where she imagined herself shooting Marty.
While the dream was a subconscious repeat of her arranging Cade's death, the very idea that she imagined it being Marty taking the bullets has to allude to the possibility that she has deeper resentment for Marty than what we've currently seen.
