Thanks to Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s groundbreaking UK version of The Office and the subsequent US remake starring Steve Carell, John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson, workplace sitcoms became all the rage in the 2000s and beyond going into the following decade.
Although the death of the police precinct based sitcom Brooklyn Nine Nine last year probably signalled the end of the workplace comedy boom era, before that we saw the likes of Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia primarily base storylines around work situations and interactions between colleagues over what was going on in their home life.
Set around the inner-workings of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation department we saw a dozen or so whacky characters attempt to stay sane whilst dealing with public issues surrounding all manners of issues with the government.
With over 126 episodes aired, we got to know the characters of Pawnee very well indeed. But how well do you remember what jobs these characters actually performed in Parks and Recreation?
