Parks & Recreation: 10 Great Moments From 100 Great Episodes

7. When Tom Learnt Ron's Secret Identity

Toward the end of season 2, we've come to know Ron Swanson as a steely, no-nonsense Libertarian who likes to keep to himself. He's not very layered at this point, but has awesome one-liners and the greatest angry face in television history, which combines intense brow-work with a strong moustache finish. But then, Mark sends Tom to a bar called Cozy's to see Ron's friend, Duke Silver. Spoiler alert: Ron has a secret identity. He is Duke, and Duke is he. Silver is of course a saxophone-playing ladies' man with an intro voice that belongs on a baby-making album. This fantastic scene sets the stage for many Duke Silver appearances, top-notch B-stories and audience jokes, like when April reveals that she knows who he is because her mom has all his albums. Or when they go to record Leslie's campaign song and there are posters of him everywhere. Or when he reveals his alter-ego to Diane to prove how much he cares about her.
