Parks & Recreation: 10 Great Moments From 100 Great Episodes

4. When Leslie Held Her Campaign Event In An Ice Rink

When Leslie and Ben go public with their relationship, Ben resigns in disgrace and Leslie's campaign advisers drop her, but something as trivial as that can't keep Leslie Knope down. Before realizing that Ben should ultimately run her campaign, her dear and caring friends do their best, but when booking a venue for the campaign re-launch, April neglects to take in the fact the sportsplex will be set up as an ice rink. A couple of other factors lead there to be a tiny stage and not enough carpet to get to it. As the group slowly shuffles along the ice (and Champion the three-legged dog pees on Ron), we get the greatest use of Gloria Estefan's "Get On Your Feet" probably ever. It's just supposed to play as Leslie is waving from the stage before her speech, so it's only 10-ish seconds of the chorus. But because it takes so long for them to cross the ice, whoever is in control of it just keep repeating the music. As they are all falling down, you hear "Get on your feet!" and it's that great, awkward, repetitive humor that makes the comedy of the moment so successful.
