Parks & Recreation: 15 Insane Details You Definitely Missed

3. The Pink Pen Slowly Runs Out Of Ink

One of the subtlest ever Parks and Rec gags is the office's "Friends of the Park" funding thermometer, which is progressively filled up as more money is raised and donated.

The thermometer is first pointed out by Leslie in season two, and later in the series, those who keep their eyes peeled will see it progressively filling up with pink ink.

The problem, eventually, is that the pink felt pen the team has been using to fill the thermometer clearly starts to run out, hence the decidedly pallid colour for the later funding milestones.

Granted, this could very well have been the actual prop pen running out of ink, but given the attention to detail the production team puts into so many of the show's gags, it's almost certainly deliberate.
