Peaky Blinders: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
5. Oswald Mosley
We know there's a Peaky Blinders film coming but in terms of the TV drama, it seems that Oswald Mosley is set to be Peaky Blinders' final big bad. Portrayed excellently by Sam Claflin, the character came onto the scene in season five and is set to continue causing havoc in the show's upcoming sixth and final season.
Oswald Mosley is inspired by the historical figure of the same name. Just like he's shown to be in Peaky Blinders, Mosley was a Birmingham-based politician obsessed with igniting a fascist regime in Britain. He established the British Union of Fascists, also known as the BUF.
The character's ideals are disturbing but he injects something new into the show. Tommy is used to facing enemies who come at him with guns blazing. Oswald is playing a much longer game as just like Tommy, he has a public front to uphold.
Oswald declares war the moment he teases to Arthur that Linda is seeing someone else. Likewise, he's trying to ruffle Tommy's feathers by alluding to Lizzie's past experiences as a sex worker. It may seem like futile gossip but Oswald is trying to turn the family against one another whilst he constructs a larger plan.
This plan is likely what will come into play in season six, but we now know Oswald is willing to play dirty. At the end of season five, the Peaky Blinders attempted to execute Oswald but Tommy's triggerman, Barney, was shot instead - which Oswald was surely behind.
We're not exactly sure what he has planned for the family just yet, but we're incredibly nervous to find out.
