Every step she took to uncover the guns and bring Tommy down was a step she took towards him and away from her loyalty to the law. Her clashes with Polly after her betrayal was uncovered were epic to watch, and Grace demonstrated her own ability to probe in just the right places to get what she wanted. Even going so far as to use sex with Tommy on their wedding day to further hammer home the point of her importance within the family.

Her death was something Tommy never moved past, and something that he probably never will. Her visions haunt him years after her demise, and though he has loved others and even married Lizzie in the time since her death, his love for Grace has never faded and Tommy is left broken by her absence. Coming close to killing himself on more than one occasion over her torturous apparitions.
