Peaky Blinders: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
16. Luca Changretta
Academy Award winner Adrien Brody plays the scene-chewing mob boss Luca Changretta in Season Four. He has an incredibly intimidating presence and is responsible for the death of John Shelby in one of the show's most shocking scenes.
An incredibly humourless figure, Changretta's one goal is to fully dismantle and murder the Shelby family in retaliation for the death of his father in the preceding season. This leaves little room for discussion and debate and leads into the most action heavy season of the show as the Shelby's and Changretta trade blows.
As intense as he is, Brody's strange Marlon Brando-esque accent can detract from the part at times. He's best used in small doses. One-off moments can be chilling, whereas long conversations can, at the worst of times, devolve into parody as Brody sounds like he's auditioning for The Godfather. It's probably for the best he only lasts the one season as he successfully doesn't quite overstay his welcome.
