Person Of Interest Season 3: 10 Major Improvements On Season 2
2. Rich Character Development
The progression of the characters this season was a huge highlight of why Person of Interest has become one of the best shows on television at the moment. It really examined the characters personalities and developed them in many interesting ways, especially in the case of Root and Shaw. When Root was introduced at the end of Season 1 and audiences got to know a bit more of her during Season 2, very few people could have imagined she would become one of the teams strongest allies. The same could be said for Shaw, but her frosty demeanour melted over the course of the year as she began to open up and place more trust in Finch and Reese. Though those two arguably developed the most, Reese, Finch and Fusco each had standout moments of development, particularly during the Endgame Trilogy and the wake of its aftermath. Reese hit rock bottom after Carters death and had to re-examine his purpose, being reminded why exactly he had signed on to work with Finch in the first place. Fuscos development really shined through as fans saw just how much of an honest cop he had become while Finch struggled through the massive consequences of all his actions. As much as the seasons plot was driven by intrigue and mystery, it was driven just as much, if not more, by the characters challenges.
