6. “Descent” (TNG - Seasons 6 & 7, Episodes 26 & 1)

Having debuted in "I, Borg" and messed up the Borg ship that rescued him, Hugh returned for season 6 finale "Descent," which is another important episode in his species' history in TNG as well as giving us more of an insight into Data and Lore.

The two-parter is an absolute classic and a must-watch whether you plan on watching Picard or not. They're also the in-point for a different breed of Borg, more aggressive, more individual and obviously allied to the returning Lore. They're the end-result of Hugh's return to the collective, who were cut off by the hive and ended up following Lore as a sort of android messiah.

Obviously Hugh's involvement is a key factor and the ending setting him up as a sort of Borg rebellion leader will no doubt lead him to his return in Picard.
