Preacher: 8 Extreme Moments That Won't Happen On TV

5. God Is A Complete B**tard

In Preacher a personification of the Christian deity is a character, and he's... not very nice. In fact, he's a cruel, prideful, narcissistic creator, who mercilessly punishes anyone that defies him.

God serves as the main antagonist of the story, in that he's the one Jesse's entire mission revolves around confronting and holding accountable for his actions. In the final issue he's also shown to be a coward as he begs the Saint Of Killers not to end his life when he finally returns to heaven after he believes the threat of Genesis has passed.

Other shows have taken digs at religion in the past of course, but to actually cast God himself as the villain is taking things to another level entirely. It'll be interesting to see how Rogen and co. go about adapting this, as leaving all mention of him out altogether doesn't seem like an option, unless they completely alter the purpose of Jesse's arc.
