Preacher Season 3: 4 Ups & 0 Downs From 'Schwanzkopf'
2. Every Storyline Was Given Equal Weight
This is a problem that has plagued the entire third season. With many of the main characters off doing their own thing, some of Preacher's disparate arcs have been somewhat neglected in favour of the central Madame L'Angelle storyline. Sure, it's a great storyline, but we're getting tired of seeing Jesse's abusive grandma threaten him each week, and would prefer more focus on Cassidy or Eugene. Schwanzkopf gave us our wish, as every single Preacher character/arc was given a fair amount of screen time.
Additionally, the L'Angelle storyline is becoming more and more interesting too. In fact, all of the storylines are incredibly compelling right now because they're reaching their natural conclusion. For the first time this season, the pacing feels right. It's all plot development from here on out.
