Preacher TV Series: Everything You Need To Know

10. Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg Are Writing

A lot of big names have been attached to a potential Preacher adaptation over the years (along with some slightly less auspicious ones). For a long time Kevin Smith and his producing partner Scott Mosier were trying to get it made with Miramax, only for the Wesinteins not to understand it. Daredevil director Mark Steven Johnson had a crack at making it into a HBO series with James Marsden starring, and no less than American Beauty and Skyfall€™s - that€™s a weird career arc - Sam Mendes in line to make it into a film in 2008. Finally, Preacher is finally getting made with an equally famous but unlikely duo behind it. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are best known as the writing partners behind Superbad, before moving on to directing their own stuff with This Is The End and the controversial, North Korea-bating The Interview. There€™s a good mix of the infernal and the darkly comic on their shared CVs, and along with writing much of the first season they€™re directing the pilot.
