Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger Announced In The Disney+ TV Shows

2. Sam Wilson (Captain America) - Lives

In the concluding scenes of Avengers: Endgame, the audience discover that Steve Rogers decided to stay in the past, as when Rogers is seen in the present he is much older. This results in Steve retiring from the superhero game, as he hands over the mantle of Captain America to one of his closest allies in Sam Wilson.

The same event occurs in the comics, as Steve aged into an old man and names Wilson as his official replacement. With this knowledge, it is safe to assume that the MCU has big plans for Anthony Mackie's character. This means that it is almost certain that Sam will survive, as he is being set up as the next Captain America and the leader of the new Avengers.

The plot of the series will seemingly see the government try to replace Rogers with their own version in US Agent, and the world will need Wilson to survive through the events of the series in order to take US Agent down, and to reinstall hope into the world after the events of the previous Avengers films. Wilson will need time to build up his image in the public eye, as the world adjusts to a new Captain America and a different Avengers team.

If the studio elected to kill off Wilson in the show, it would also undo the significance of the concluding scene of Avengers: Endgame. The show will deal partly with Wilson trying to fill the role of Captain America, meaning that it is incredibly unlikely that Wilson is killed off, as it would both waste the potential built from Endgame, and as kill off the prospect of him becoming his own version of Captain America.
