3. The Killing Joke
Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's comic is praised by many as the best Joker story of all time. It shows a satisfying origin for the character whilst also maintaining the mystique with the Joker's simple throwaway line, "sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past I prefer it to be multiple choice!"
Almost every line of dialogue uttered by the Joker in the book is brilliant and quotable, so it's no wonder that fans have been clamoring for an animated adaptation for years, begging Hamill to read various parts out loud at comic conventions around the globe.
Although the film was criticised for not being a faithful adaptation of the comic, the final act, which pretty much consists of the Joker's most iconic monologues, remains mostly intact, and it's a pleasure to hear Hamill finally deliver it with expertise. "All it takes is one bad day…"
