Ranking Every MCU TV Show From Worst To Best
10. Iron Fist
Danny Rand can count himself lucky that he was such an integral part of the original Marvel/Netflix plan, otherwise his solo outing surely would've surely resulted in an instant canning as undignified as the Inhumans'. Iron Fist was the last to debut and was heavily criticised in some circles ahead of this over the casting of British actor Finn Jones instead of somebody of Asian descent (even though the character is Caucasian in the comics).
Originally born out of the 1970s obsession with martial arts movies, Iron Fist should've been a fun romp that didn't take itself too seriously. Instead audiences tuning into the first season were treated to a bloated affair that was all too frequently dull and uninteresting. Jones' acting talents (or lack thereof) were an easy target for critics, as were nonsensical plot developments and the lack of memorable villains to rival those offered by other series.
The recent second season, helmed by Raven Metzner after the removal of Scott Buck (who was also the showrunner for Inhumans) was much better in terms of quality (if still below par), with superior fight choreography and tighter plotting. Alice Eve’s take on the split personality suffering Mary Walker was a highlight and an intriguing cliffhanger left plenty of options open for a third season.
Sadly this is a third season that we’ll now never see (at least on Netflix) following the series’ cancellation. Here’s hoping Orson Randall at least pops up elsewhere…
