Ranking Every Season Of Arrow From Worst To Best
6. Season 6
Arrow's sixth season really was an enigma. It did the opposite of Seasons 3, 4 and 7 in that it started off a little rocky, descended to infuriating depths in the middle before rising for a concluding string of episodes that was nothing short of brilliant. But why did it take so long to get there?
In spite of promising storylines like Oliver's attempts to be a father to William, the full time introduction of Earth-2 Laurel Lance Black Siren (and how that ultimately shifted the dynamics) and her eventual journey towards redemption, Season 6 got off on the wrong foot because it chickened out of the previous season's cliffhanger and killed the most predictable character of them all. From there, tech whiz Cayden James failed to offer any real threat to the season, while the painstakingly bloated original Team Arrow vs. New Team Arrow conflict was mind-numbing.
But when everyone stopped behaving out of character, the season hit its stride as Ricardo Diaz's unexpected rise to the top of Star City as its criminal kingpin offered multiple engaging episodes, upping all the stakes in an admirably short amount of time and gifting the show with one of its finest finales.
