Ranking Every Superhero TV Show From Worst To Best

7. Supergirl

Superhero TV
CBS

The first season of Supergirl, which aired on CBS, wasn't as excellent an entry into the superhero world as Arrow, and even less so The Flash. However, it was still a very fun and enjoyable season, which showed plenty of promise.

It wasn't all smooth sailing, or flying, as the show insisted on having the shadow of Superman lurk over things, lessening the impact of Supergirl. There wasn't a great deal of depth either, the show easy to watch but harder to get truly invested in.

However, it did bring a great sense of playfulness, akin in tone to The Flash's debut year, and a lot of weird and wonderful comic book moments. Holding it all together, and the best reason to watch, was Melissa Benoist. It's not much to say she's the best version of Supergirl we've had on screen, but it's true - and very much a compliment. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she's one of the most likeable leads on any superhero series.

With a move to The CW for Season 2, and Superman actually appearing rather than a strange half-existence, Greg Berlanti and co can focus more on Supergirl, and bringing it into the Arrowverse proper should lead to some big improvements in its sophomore year (and early signs are very positive).
