2. David Rose
David is perhaps the most consistently funny character on the show. Moira and Johnny's son is increasingly annoyed by everything and is not afraid to show it. Dan Levy's work on the show, both in front of and behind the camera, cannot be understated and his influence on Schitt's Creek is felt in every frame.
David loves to complain and he does so with such an unrivalled energy that is hilarious to watch. Every other character on the show, in particular his family and Patrick, indulges him in his irritation and it is incredibly humorous to watch.
His relationships with Patrick and Stevie are exceptionally well written and feel very honest, as does his dynamic with his family. Over the course of the seasons, David learns to accept that he deserves to be happy and that enriches the relationships he has with the people around him.
Dan Levy gives a phenomenal performance as David and ending the show on his wedding day was a smart choice as he finally got his happy ending in more ways than one.
