Ranking The Main Characters Of Schitt's Creek From Worst To Best
11. Roland Schitt
One of the most prominent characters of the show is the mayor of Schitt's Creek himself. Roland is a socially perverse individual who lacks boundaries and etiquette of any kind. Roland isn't a flat-out bad character, but out of everyone on the show, his are the jokes that land the least.
It gets to a point, after six seasons, that Roland's novelty begins to wear off and his insistent social ineptitude can be slightly grating. It's not a bad performance or bad writing, it's more that Roland fails to adapt to the changing circumstances of the show and that results in him being the least enjoyable of the principle characters.
His begrudging friendship with Johnny can be amusing at times and his relationship with Jocelyn is probably the aspect of his character that works the best. It's just a shame his presence couldn't be a little less annoying at times as the show went on.
