Ranking The Major Buffy The Vampire Slayer Villains From Worst To Best

3. Faith

The story of rogue slayer Faith is without question one of the BuffyVerse's best narratives.

Faith arrived in Sunnydale soon after the untimely death of Kendra and immediately formed a close bond with Buffy. The two understand each other in ways that nobody else could, which ultimately made her turn to the dark-side sting that little bit more.

After losing control and murdering an innocent man, the two Slayers found themselves at odds with one another and Faith quickly found comfort in doing the dirty work for Mayor Wilkins, acting as a double-agent and inflicting as much harm on The Scooby Gang as possible.

Her tragic backstory and unchecked trauma make her an especially loose canon, and this coupled with her abilities as a Slayer, makes her one extremely dangerous young woman. She's fully capable of matching Buffy in terms of combat skills, but her inner rage makes her a fearsome opponent that isn't afraid to fight dirty.

The eventual body-swapping storyline in season four is also a real standout and gave us a deep dive into Faith's psyche that was both upsetting and cathartic, and her time as Buffy's nemesis forever left a mark on both the show and Buffy herself.
