Recasting The Stargate Atlantis Reboot

7. Lana Parrilla As Queen Death

After prolonged fighting with the crew of the Atlantis, the Wraith command hierarchy was shattered and reorganized under many different leaders. One of the most intimidating was a Wraith Queen known simply as Queen Death, who was played by Andee Frizell.

Queen Death was different from most normal Wraith Queens. She desired control over the entire Wraith armada and brutally chased after that desire. Her forces decimated entire worlds along with any rebellious wraith, even Todd's forces crumbled under her rule.

While there are plenty of actresses who could play Queen Death, one of the most obvious is Lana Parrilla, who is well known as the Evil Queen in ONCE, and as Rita Castillo in Why Women Kill.

Ms. Parilla could do an amazing job as Queen Death, perhaps making the character a more prolonged threat, rather than a one-off villain. Queen Death could even be the leader of the wraith already when the Atlantis crew first arrives in the reboot, adding a more imposing presence and singular threat for the Wraith empire, like Anubis was for the Goa'uld in the later seasons of the original Stargate.

Queen Death being portrayed by Lana Parilla could give the actress a chance to be a more brutal villain, not limited by network censorship, and could give the character a much-needed overhaul and give more personality for our heroes to fight against.
