Red Dwarf Season 11: 6 Reasons To Be Excited

There's more Red Dwarf coming than you might think.

Red Dwarf is coming back. Dave recently confirmed that it has commissioned two new series of the show, for 2016 and 2017 respectively, to follow on from its airing of reboots Back To Earth (unofficially referred to as Series IX) in 2009 and Series X in 2012. This is exciting news. While the newest seasons certainly weren't the best that the show has produced (and it's debatable whether anything could even match up to the brilliance of the first 6 series), they were certainly enjoyable and true to the exceptional legacy of Red Dwarf. There have been very few details leaked to this point. It's difficult to know exactly what direction Doug Naylor is planning to take the show, and whether it will directly follow the events of Series X or do what the newer seasons did and skip forward in time somewhat. Casting decisions generally still remain under wraps, as do plots and scripts. This list includes the few tidbits of information that have been revealed to this point, as well as offering a bit of speculation on what capers the crew may get involved with in Series XI. Which characters might return? Which questions remain unanswered from previous seasons? And what is this rumour about four Krytens? All is revealed here.
