Red Dwarf X Trailer Released

The trailer features Lister sporting the locks, Cat pulling out the moves, Kryten waiting hand and foot and Rimmer's still dead, dead as a can of spam.

UKTV's Dave website have released a short one minute trailer for the upcoming Red Dwarf X series which hits our screens later this year. Just as What Culture went and reminded fans of just how funny and original the cult series was, listing 10 of the greatest moments in the Red Dwarfs history, Dave have gone along and wet our lips even more. The one minute video sees the boys back on Red Dwarf itself up to their old antics with Lister sporting the locks, Cat pulling out the moves, Kryten waiting hand and foot and Rimmer's still dead, dead as a can of spam. Not only have Dave given fans a little preview of what to expect later this year, but they have also stated that every Friday the website will be updated with something new in relation to the upcoming series. You can watch the new trailer below; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7opdzX_4kE Fans of the iconic Sci-Fi series have had to endure a long fourteen year wait for the release of the newest instalment. Although a three part Easter special was aired back in 2009, where it played away from the usual surroundings of Red Dwarf and Starbug, the specials drew large numbers but fans reactions were split. To many it just wasn't Red Dwarf and Back To Earth was more an extended episode split into three parts, testing the waters to confirm it still had its strong following as many tuned in to catch the return of the crew. Aptly named Back To Earth, the Dwarfers found themselves returned to Lister and Rimmers homeland and in true Blade Runner style the four were on the hunt to stop themselves being written from existence. Only for it to be revealed as all a dream, a hallucination brought on by a giant squid, make sense? That's Red Dwarf for you. With multiple nods to past episodes it carried a nostalgia feel and many agreed that while the direction of the episodes were a little parted from the previous eight outings, the magic between the boys was still there. Hopes will again be raised later this year when Red Dwarf X hits our screens. Can we expect to see the boys up to their usual comedic antics? Will Lister's love for curry still play a prominent part in the boys ongoing quest to nowhere? Has age finally caught up to Cat's fashion sense, switching fur and latex with cotton and corduroy? Has Kryten finally mastered the ability to lie without stuttering like a broken record? And can fans expect Rimmer to be the same weasly, low-life smeg head he has always been? We can only hope. Red Dwarf X airs later this year in the Autumn on the freeview channel Dave.
